Anthropology by Mr. Victor Solomon doing Dan Rhodes.

Victor Solomon, the man who gave us the very inspirational short; the narrator, strikes back with a series of five. (5 beauties based on quirky relationships)(Today there are 3 down, 2 to go.)

@Victor; watch your back; I will check out Dan Rhodes to verify if you didn't overdue the set-design.

Unbelievable how experimental can become art can become mainstream. a couple of years ago you had to go to a museum to see things like this. I suppose HD-compression is not the issue here.

the klara experiment featuring Luc Tuymans

I find the results of this experiment very depressing. I was hoping that there were more people out there interested in beauty.
Maybe I should start a blog about crap and get me some beer.
PS2. Proud to be Belgian. euh...?

unidentified moving image

More then a year ago I posted this short movie. But then the link went dead and I deleted the post. Recently I got a mail with the question were that Japanese girl with the pavement experience went. I suppose the mail was talking about this movie. (I just found it back cleaning up drive space) It reminds me a lot of the writings of Haruki Murakami.
If anybody should know who can be credited, please let me know.

R.I.P. - Respected Inspirational Person

I just read on CReview that Mr. Paul Arden passed away a couple of days ago. It is partly thanks to Mr Arden that I am still working in the creative sector. He convinced me that I am not that crazy as most people in my surroundings think that I am. He showed a lot of people how they could be creative and he did this with a flair. I, - and I am convinced al lot of others too - will miss his ideas, his wit, and mostly his out of the box thinking. Rest In Peace Mister Arden.

Last year I gave a speech (together with Steve B.) at the Promax conferences in Berlin, NY, Bombay, and Africa. "The Blue Tit Syndrome; or how to steal and get away with it." This speech was largely inspired by Mr. Ardens work.

Watch it, if you enjoy it it will take you 40 minutes.

3 nominations for the promax/BDA axards.

Very glad to announce that we are nominated for the Europe promax/bda awards 2008 in Barcelona. (ps. Last year we won gold with this one).

This year we are nomitated 3 times.
17. BEST SPECIAL EVENT PROMO
20. BEST SOUND DESIGN
28. BEST COPY/SCRIPT WRITING

2 year event by Ralf D.

In 2007 we celebrated our second year anniversary. By enlarging a negative idea (addiction) we differentiated ourselves clearly form the free channel competition (anti-selling) and underlined our baseline “our movies, our sport, my moment” By choosing for a classical dramatic structure we proved our loyal subscribers that we truly love movies. Thanks to this spot our subscribers felt that there where real people behind the video-store-channel that we are. This kind of trailers gives us a face. (Prime shows more or less 350 movies a month.

Ralf D. made us this beauty with a 48 hours deadline notice and the help of 2 friends and one HDV camera.

PRIME ACTION by Tom W.

Does innocence exist? Are bad people born that way? Can you create a monologue interieur for a 10 year old girl that is really frightening and make it believable?
Can you promote an action channel without guns, explosions, car chases, our special effects? We think we did.
We tried to claim a brand (prime action) not only by promoting the movies, but by trying to offer something more, by showing our subscribers that we love those movies and that we love them by showing them something they don’t expect.
We could'nt continue this idea of innocence in the sounddesign. Therefore we chose to create an environment of tension as a counterpoint to the images. A dark, morbid, and cruel soundlandscape as an opposite to the visual innocence of a 10 year old girl.

This trailer was shot with the phantom camera by Marc van Acker.
Copywriting was by Johan dirkx
production in the carefull hands of Sofie Gebruers
and directed by our last year promax winner Tom Willems.

Hope we win in Barcelona and if you see us there(with a statue); drinks are on me.
