The sun's gone dim.

by Johann Johannson.
Nikolai Galitzin was asked to do a film for one of the songs on the IBM 1401 album. He asked 4 of his filmmaker friends to come to Iceland and shoot 5 different stories, one story for each filmmaker. Then the 5 films were combined into one film, in a variation of the surrealist game of "Cadavre Exquis"

Information has no form.

This is a short film about information. Although most of us think we know what we mean when we say "information," we sometimes confuse the medium with the message.

Very Mc Luhanesque:-)

Visual music

by 12 frames. A music video about a man trapped in a dream. His world, consisting of "plattenbauten" (buildings made with precast concrete slabs) begins to fall apart. For this production a homemade 35mm adapter was used. The CG elements were animated in Cinema 4D. Credits at the end of the video.

Tonight on VTM (repost)

There are no values left. Our commercial channel VTM has 21 grams as their friday night movie. Just wondering who decided to put that movie there? But then again, who is complaining about quality. 4 years back we made this little ident/trailer for the predecessor of prime fezztival. The rest of those series can be viewed here.

Boulevard (repost)

by Peter Horvath.
In Boulevard, a strong sense of cinematic presence transitions from the visual language of collage to scripting and directing a highly intense narrative.

Located in Los Angeles, we follow a striking woman, the passenger of a convertible car, driven by an unidentified driver through the city, passing its generic streets, billboards and motels, with an unknown destination. There is a voice-over, presumably hers, that exposes her feelings of obsession. Running parallel to the piece is a dialogue between a man and woman in intimate, but casual conversation about love. The video sequences are frequently suspended, disjunctive and blurred, distorting our visual and emotional sense of place.
At once lyrical and intoxicatingly beautiful, we pass through discrete emotive atmospheres experiencing ambiguity, desire and longing.
