xpassion, porn, sex, tities, adult, couple,....
The more experienced blog reader will understand by now that I am in need of more visitors. I am clearly not a man of the world. I don't understand why it is that when you have sex in the title your visitors quota is going trough the roof. It happened with our prime on bifff posts, it happened when pussy calor linked trough to this post and it will probably happening now.
So here is the story of the X-passion-trailers. More then a year ago my (now former) boss wanted some trailers for our porn channel(s). Yes, as a pay tv channel we have porn, video on demand porn, subscription video on demand porn, gay porn, in short, we have it all.
So, as each employe would do after an order from his boss, we went to work. We started thinking what to do, and after a couple of months, nothing was happening. We said to each other, lets organize a casting, and nothing happened.
We where thinking of a nice animation serie, but still nothing happened. Then I said; we have to make it happen." because this boss asked for it.
So, Joel V. said to me; "Let me take a plain to the former east. There is a lot happening over there." We still don't know what happened there but he came back with some nice preformers. Then, suddenly things were happening fast. We had a shoot, we had an edit, we had some nice motion design, and then we had these... and we still don't understand why we had to do it in the first place, because sex sells itself.
PS. if I ad the word "transsexual" now, google will go bezerk and my server will probably explode.

Observations about visionary works.
At the recent Promax/BDA conference in Berlin I saw a very inspiring speech by Mr. Danny Yount.
He was wondering what it takes to design something really great.
He was wondering what makes a project unique. And most of all...
He was questioning which special gifts you needed as a director/designer to accomplish such thing.
His answers where very simple.
- Exploit the obvious.
- Deliver great moments at the right moment.
- practice intelligent execution.
and most of all...
- Be obsessive about detail.
Mr. Yount works in graphic design and film and has won awards in most major award shows for everything from online media to feature main titles. He has won two Emmy's and one nomination for his work in television, where he created the title sequence for HBO's Six feed Under as a director at Digital Kitchen and has recently been recognized for creating the feature main title for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as a director at Kyle Cooper's Prologue Films in Malibu CA. In addition he has served clients for HBO, TNT, SciFi, Lifetime, Colombia Pictures, Silver Pictures, warner Bros, Mandate Pictures, CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox.

Mr. Bill Plympton
The tune was animator Bill Plympton's first full-length feature. His short films have been seen widely around the country, highlighting many animation festivals. His oblique, off-center sense of the ridiculous in everyday life has made the "Microtoons" and his other shorts a popular MTV offering. His distinctive style has even invaded the world of advertising. Commercials for both Trivial Pursuit and Sugar Delight make us chuckle and gasp. All his life Bill Plympton has been fascinated by animation. When he was fourteen he sent Disney some of his cartoons and offered up his services as animator. They wrote back and told him that while his drawings showed promise, he was too young. It wasn't until 1983 that he was approached to animate a film.

This is what you could call a blue tit behind the window.
Youtube is killing me. For 15 years I am photographing and filming windows to do something with it. (not defined what nor when, but my collection is growing). Today I discover on youtube this Peter Greenaway short from 1974 I didn't knew of. Lucky for me he is shooting from the in to the out, while I am shooting from the out to the in:-)

Liebestod - Four acts

This 15 min short movie from the 31 year old Greek director Stathis Athanasiou is in my point of view more then original. Although some of you will find me to arty farty again, I truly enjoyed it. Maybe the vignette is a bit to pronounced, but then again who am I to judge.

On the road.
It looks like Mr. Steven H. is on a fast road towards the gallery of great moving-image-graphical-artists. I remember him starting up a couple of years ago with this ncr (re-post) conference trailer, where there was still room for an over aged director like me. Now he is doing it all by himself. Lets say that we consider him grown up and that it is time for me to shift gear.

SCADshorts is a creative project developed by the Dandy Dwarves and commissioned by the Savannah College of Art and Design. PRIME On Air vs. PROMAX/DBA
We are nominated twice for the Promax/BDA awards.
