Piotr Wegrzynski Multimedial performer, educator, founder (1995) and leader of the artistic group SUKA OFF. Holder of the scholarship of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. He is a video and performance artist, focused mostly on body art. He created over 150 'visual art' perfomances (theatre, happening, performance art). Together with SUKA OFF as well as individually, he performed at numerous events in Poland and abroad winning many awards. In 2000 he started the BlackFleshVideo group to produce video art, music videos and visuals. BFV works were presented at many foreign festivals (among other in Brasil, Argentina, Japan, Estonia, France and Great Britan).
In Boulevard, a strong sense of cinematic presence transitions from the visual language of collage to scripting and directing a highly intense narrative.
Located in Los Angeles, we follow a striking woman, the passenger of a convertible car, driven by an unidentified driver through the city, passing its generic streets, billboards and motels, with an unknown destination. There is a voice-over, presumably hers, that exposes her feelings of obsession. Running parallel to the piece is a dialogue between a man and woman in intimate, but casual conversation about love. The video sequences are frequently suspended, disjunctive and blurred, distorting our visual and emotional sense of place.
At once lyrical and intoxicatingly beautiful, we pass through discrete emotive atmospheres experiencing ambiguity, desire and longing.
Marlene Dumas: Measuring Your Own Grave

This exhibition of the work of the acclaimed painter Marlene Dumas, the first of its scale to be mounted in the United States, is organized by The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, in association with The Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition includes approximately seventy paintings and thirty-five drawings, providing a comprehensive examination of the work of one of the most thought-provoking and fascinating artists working today. The exhibition opens with Dumas's earliest mature works from the late 1970s. While loosely chronological, it will also reflect Dumas's tendency to work in series, with key paintings grouped together. Through her focus on the human figure, Dumas merges themes of race, sexuality, and social identity with personal experience and art-historical antecedents to create a unique perspective on important and controversial issues of the day. The exhibition provides an opportunity to trace these themes over the course of the artist's career, and also provides access to paintings and drawings of extraordinary technical quality. The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue.
Kono Michi is the song-writing project of Brooklyn-based professional violinist, Michi Wiancko. For the video for "When I Don't Come Back" (lead track of "TheLivingroom Disappearance" EP on Scotland's Shark Batter Records), Michi filmed herself singing the song in a bath of milk! Good enough for Cleopatra? Good enough for Kono Michi.
