Hello,
sorry for this off-topic way of communication but the email address provided on your about:me page didn't work...
I'm Claudius Schulze, German Photographer. I'll travel to Marocco in August and part of this trip will be a visit to Calamocarro. In particular, I'm interested in the public phone there - according to numbers of the Spanish Telecom, this phone booth is the one with the highest revenues in all Spain. However, the data I have are from 2000, so quite old. My question to you is: when you've been in Calamocarro to shoot your documentary (great work, btw!), what was the situation?
Did you see this phone booth? Is it still as much frequented as in 2000? And one general question: is Calamocarro freely accesible or do you need official permission? (It is the Red Cross who's running it, isn't it?)

Many thanks already,
Claudius

- I flew to Tanger and took a cap to Ceuta. I think it is handier to take the boot from spain (algeciras?) to Ceuta. That way you stay in europe and you will have less problems with customs.
- the phonebooth near the beach just outside the camp is fully booked 24/7 (there was always a cue)
- I got my permission to film at the camp from the Guardia civil. (wasn't that hard to get one) + The phonebooth is just outside the camp at the entrance.
- What I remember the most about the camp is the noise and the smell.
- I don't know how the situation is know.
- ps. sent me some pictures afterwards. I am curious about how it is there now.
