P R I M E -o- 2 year party
Apparently, here on PRIME ON AIR we do a lot more then just making television. After a fashion show, balloon flight, an inauguration of a building 1 & 2, a weddingvideo 4 a friend, we still find the time to party. No wonder that I am tired. PS. The evening was made to a succes by our newbie Diane A. Great Job Diane and welkom.

My mind crashed on an internet overdose. I will be watching emptiness for a while. Nozap isn't dead, just tired. Let me sleep and when I think my internet addiction is under control I will come back.

Queens of the Stone Age
Queens of the Stone Age "3's and 7's" Paul roughed girl gangs, lesbian brawls, and other graphic, gratuitous mayhem as he helmed the new clip for Queens of the Stone Age. Shooting in merciless deserts, dingy strip clubs, and illegal chop shops – the video harkens back to the days of cheap sexploitation flicks. Keep an eye out for inconspicuous cameos from Minor and Botkin themselves.
Director: Paul Minor Producer: Jonathan Lia DP: Shawn Kim

the Lady revisited.
In 1947 Orson Welles (co-)wrote and directed "the Lady from Shangai" + clip. I guess it was time to give Rita a new smell.

The trailer of dovepeople...
... looks very rock and roll to me. I guess they were inspired a bit by Mr William Gibson.

Dovepeople is about a durgaddict seamingly lost in live, who tries to comit suicide. But instead of and escape hes beeing forced by the gods to slowly be transformed into a "rat of Air". With the help of a smal kid - step by step - he not only finds a way out of misery but the will and the strengh to change something in the world, which he left behind.

Unity of action (the prequel of 1923)
Yesterday I posted a clip (astroclub) with a clever editing technique. Turns out that this technique wasn't that new as I presumed :-) Long live Mr Buster Keaton.

astroclub by Etienne Charry
I have to remember this one. Imagine that you are an editing instructor and out of ideas for your practice course. Wouldn't this be a great lesson? After "unity of time", "unity of place", students could practice on "unity of action" without getting bored on the subject to fast.

All God's Children Can Dance.
All God's Children Can Dance is the first film adaptation of a Haruki Murakami story in the US. Director Robert Logevall cut a special trailer of the film for Monocle. Logevall says: "When I read the story, I couldn't get it out my head. But then thought, how can you adapt Murakami? It's so incredible what he can say in a sentence. And, the movie is very fluid. It's more like a sketch. I hope it's a little sketch of a Murakami short story...

Yeah... I know and I don't
Everybody is telling me to post this rabbit thing?
I don't know?
1) It is all over the place.
2) it is a bit to orchestrated for my taste.
- Should I like a commercial that needs another commercial to promote it?
- Should I like a commercial that is already a hype before anybody has seen it?
- Should I like a commercial that needs a marketing budget probably bigger then I can imagine with a technique that real creative's use to be creative?
- Should I like a commercial that is so original that I can't find a single frame I didn't see before?
anyhow;
Here is something we made more then 10 years ago. Before FCP was invented and before anybody heard of after effects. and before you could find 40 animators to do it. :-) A simple stop motion without editing. Animation frame by frame in camera. Is it better then then rabbits? No, certainly not. Was it more fun to make? Probably yes.

editing
Aijt from ticklebooth is talking about familjen-det-snurrar-i-min-skalle as one of the best edit jobs of the year. It certainly is a nice try but I still prefer our own mordorobin's little piece of car repairing as best edit from last year.

If.
If I could find the time to remember a good song from the past.
If I could find the time to wonder around and film everything I see.
If I could change my life.
...
I would probably make something like this
...
If I should listen to the lyrics
...
I WILL do so
probably...
one day
from that moment.

Eighteen Seconds.
This short movie has been directed by Zac&Mac (Bruno Zacharias and MacGregor). Original music by Aaron Marshall.
I always knew that meaning could be created by the art of editing. This short movie is just a wonderful example of the "collision course" combined with the Deus ex Machina storytelling technique. Enjoy.
