Man vs magnet

Upon receiving his masters degree in motion graphics/ broadcast design at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Matt Smihson packed up and moved to New York City to join Curious Pictures in June 2006. His undergrad degree is in fine art with a focus on painting and printmaking.
Matt has exhibited in numerous group shows for both painting and motion graphics in addition to receiving various awards for animation. He draws inspiration from ambiguous environments, found objects, and the notion that the human mind is driven by sleep and circumstance.

QUIO "SO DAZED - VIDEOMIX“ by agf producktion

In this experimental music video the singer is put to a test: A day like everyday. But suddenly something happens - the reflection of quio herself appears on the tv-screen, the water doesn’t fall downwards anymore, the cutlery falls to the ceiling... gravitation is suspended. Quio has to orientate herself in a new way and then she discovers the advantages of the new room structure.

This almost „gondryesk“ video cites a kind of futuristic fifties aesthetics and is a play with space, camera and film technologies.
