Mosaic design
Since my first days in the moving-images-industry I was always fascinated by the concept of mosaic design. The people from Pleix extended this idea to the extreme. A world made of webcams. Why didn't I think of this before? Have a look at "netlag". And, - if you find the time - , have a look at the 11 other beauties.

La Jetée
A movie (27 min) that blew me away almost 30 years ago and still does. Mr Chris Marker learned me that the possibilities in movie-making are endless. For those who didn't see it and want to know how you tell a story with almost only still pictures; You can view it entirely on google video. If you do, please take the time.

Somewhere
M: Larry?
L: Yes, Mary?
M: What’s happening now?
L: Now?
M: Yes.
L: This exact moment?
M: Yes.
L: Why should there something be happening?
M: There must be. Don't you think?
L: Yes. Probably. There must be.
M: Somewhere.
L: Yes, somewhere.

my space for art
If you like/create/buy/steal art then you can't get around this site. Don't forget the student "stuart" area, It is huge.
The power of the selector
The best photos of the year 2006 from time magazine. A lot of power, violence, war, pain and despair if you ask me. Wasn't there something nice and beautiful to photograph?
How to steal and get away with it. (lesson2)
You bluntly take someone's work, product, thing, whatever... Then you give it a twist, a turn. You add an extra element, preferably something new. This you do so well till the original creator shows up, add ad on his/her turn an extra element what makes it even better.
This is exactly what David Armand, a stand up comedian, from the hollow group is doing. Please keep doing it Mr Armand.
(ps. I stumbled on this video tx 2 nodesktophero.)

Congratulations to...
Happy Birthday Mr Steven H. If I remember it right, this included movie, was our first director-animator-collaboration. Like I can see it now, this little thing is still standing after all those years. I wish you a nice evening and know that I am glad to know you. The best is yet to come.

The Low-Fat Diary
"Equipped with a camera, a pen, a notebook, and a few indispensable items such as my iPod, a tent, and a couple of pots, in the winter 2004 I set out to travel the 1700 kilometers (1050 miles) from Copenhagen to the Mediterranean Sea. I wanted to know if I could cover the distance with only 14 Euros in my pocket..."

Snowflake (for Sofie)
For those who need something to keep there kids happy or those who did'nt use scissors for a while. Make your own snowflakes. Christmas is coming.
Don't ask me why. (Ryan Jeffery)
(quote from Mr jeffery's site)
Fallen uses the iconic imagery found in mythology and religion to create a modern myth. Presenting itself as a tale of creation, the film illustrates the simultaneous appreciation and paranoia of the technological age. The interest in forms both organic and fabricated is mirrored by a fusion of the contemporary with the ancient.

sommigen zijn beter (Christian Marclay)
Yesterday I saw the - video quartet - by Christian Marclay in the Tate Modern in London. I didn't hear of the man before and he just blew me away. The best video (or should I say audio) installation I saw in a long time. You can't explain it, you can't copy it, you can't paste it. Go and see it.

Trailer for a friend
a trailer for a friend who just had is movie script refused because there where to many old people in it, and old people aren't sexy anymore. Makes me think that I urgently need some sexy-ness around here. Get my visitors counter up a bit.
12 words, shut up & sing
watch the trailer, see the movie, buy their records, and prove those 12 words weren't the problem.
mission statement
I need to write a mission statement. This blog is going to many directions.

M: Jealous?
L: Me? No. Why should I?
M: Not even a bit?
L: ... Maybe a bit.
M: So a bit jealous then?
L: Yes. a bit.
M: jealous of flickeur?
L: What does flickeur mean, anyway?
M: I think it is pronounced like voyeur.
L: Ohh... You think so?
M: So ... you are not jealous then. ... Only a bit?
L: No. ... I mean, Yes. ... Yes, I am jealous.
the picture was grabbed on the site of mario klingemann the man who made flickeur and Islands Of Consciousness. A job well done if you asked me.

Scary-Mary
a movie-trailer is apparently not necessarily a representation of the movie itself. Nice script, nice edit, nice soundtrack, wrong movie.
credits go to a certain Chris Rule, sorry Chris, I don't remember where I got it.
